In a slight departure, instead of writing articles this week I have been making a video of a guitar stand I repaired at the weekend.
Last time my band played a gig the stand was damaged, presumably from being thrown in the back of the car in great haste at the end of the evening. In the middle of the stand there is a plastic grip that allows the height of the stand to be adjusted, and this plastic had split, which meant that the stand would not lock into place.
I looked at buying a new stand, but these ones are around £30 new, so I thought I'd have a go at repairing the stand. With a bit of rummaging around for tools and screws I started work on the stand, which is all captured on the video.
It took less than 5 minutes to strip out the plastic grip and replace it with a screw, which will hopefully give y trusty guitar stand many more years of life.
I hope you enjoyed watching this as much as I enjoyed making it - a big ask - but as always I'd welcome your comments and feedback on the blog or via the website.
Thanks for reading / watching, and I'll catch you next week.
