Fretfunk ventured into something new and attended the Ramblin' Man Fair last weekend. This was the first time we had tried something like this so we were a little unsure of what to expect. However we were very pleasantly surprised with the response and feedback we got from the wonderful people who visited our stall. We were blessed with glorious sunshine (sometimes a little too hot) however far better than a rainy festival.
We were fortunate enough to have some helpers with us so we were able to catch some of the fantastic line up. I think the most entertaining Rock and Roll performance award has to go to Airborne ......
in amongst the Ramblers at Ramblin' Man Fair
Other highlights we captured.....
Black Stone Cherry
Some of our highlights were also Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, King Pin, Hayseed Dixie, Black Stone Cherry, amongst others. We caught a few new bands on the up and coming stage and being located near the Prog stage we had great entertainment all weekend. Another advantage to being a trader is that we managed to hear some of the sound checks as well.
Mote Park is an excellent location and as festivals go this one was well laid out with a great crowd and a friendly atmosphere, we would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys their Rock music.
We were also pleased to have a great neighbour to our stall - Spatchcock and Wurzill and the travelling Teddy!
The heat and excitement did prove a little too much for some Ramblers!....
Finally we would like to thank everyone who stopped by and either bought something or just picked up a beer mat and showed and interest in our gear, it was really great meeting you. And I can confirm the record for owning the most number of guitars goes to the gentlemen with the collection of 33. Rock On.........
